Waterways of Cheshire

With so many attractions in Cheshire and North Wales, it can be difficult to decide which to visit first. This itinerary explores the region's waterways, demonstrating their significance in our nation's history. The first stop is the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, which is set on 50 acres in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. Learn about how the Shire horse contributed to our heritage by pulling narrow boats along the waterways. The holiday continues in charming Chester with a tranquil 30-minute cruise on the River Dee, complete with commentary. After lunch, we travel north to the Wirral Peninsula for a guided tour of the award-winning Ness Botanic Gardens. Finally, take a tour of the National Waterways Museum.

This independently run 3-star hotel set in the village of New Brighton 2 miles from Mold. The hotel does not have a lift.  However, there are 30 rooms which are on the level from the public areas. The large bar extends into the conservatory which is a coffee shop and open throughout the day.
