Medical Conditions & Health Declaration

It is very important that you declare any pre-existing medical conditions.

For UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man trips (excluding Air & Cruise holidays), you are not covered for claims arising from a pre-existing medical condition unless you are fit to travel, your doctor would have agreed to your travel plans, you are not travelling to receive medical treatment, and you are not awaiting tests, investigations, surgery or results.

For trips outside the UK and all Air or Cruise holidays, you must declare any medical condition if, within the last 12 months, you have been prescribed medication, received treatment or consulted a doctor, attended hospital, been referred for tests or surgery, had undiagnosed symptoms, or been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

To declare a medical condition, contact the confidential medical screening service on 023 92 41 9063 as soon as possible after booking. An additional premium may apply. Cover for declared conditions only begins once written confirmation has been issued. If a condition cannot be covered, any claims directly or indirectly related to that condition will not be covered.

For all trips, you are not covered if you travel against medical advice, know you will need medical treatment during your trip, are travelling specifically for medical treatment, or were diagnosed with a terminal illness before booking. Claims arising from the health of someone not insured on the policy may also not be covered if you were aware of unstable or undiagnosed conditions at the time of booking.

This is not private medical insurance. It provides cover for emergency medical treatment and transport following an accident or unexpected illness during your trip.

Key Exclusions

The policy does not cover undeclared or unaccepted medical conditions, intentional self-harm or suicide, terrorist events, travel provider financial failure, or epidemics and pandemics unless specifically stated as covered under certain sections of the policy.

Residency Requirements

You must be permanently resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man, be registered with a UK doctor, and not have spent more than six months abroad in the 12 months before the policy was issued or your trip was booked (whichever is later).

Making a Claim

All claims should be made directly to Allianz on 0208 666 9233 (Monday to Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, excluding Bank Holidays).

Data Protection & Additional Support

Your personal data will be processed in line with our Privacy Notice and UK data protection laws. Information may be shared with relevant third parties to administer your policy and may be transferred outside the UK where required.

If you have personal circumstances requiring additional support, such as visual, hearing or health-related needs, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.

If insurance cannot be offered, or your premium is higher due to medical conditions, you may seek help via the Money and Pensions Service travel insurance directory or by calling 0800 138 7777 (Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm).
