Shrigley Hall was built in 1825 for William Turner a local miller and a member of parliament> In 1928 the hall was sold to the Salesian Missionary Order who turned the entrance hall into a refectory, the main drawing room (now the hotel reception) became the headmasters study. In 1936 an unusual Arts and Crafts chapel was built and designed by Philip Tilden (now the leisure club and main hotel function room) In 1989 the hall was sold and was extended and opened as a hotel,.
