Powderham Castle Nestled on the banks of the River Exe in Devon, Powderham Castle invites you to step into over 600 years of history. Built in 1391 by Sir Philip Courtenay, this Grade I listed fortress has been the Courtenay family's home for generations, blending medieval architecture with Victorian elegance.

As a family owned and run hotel, they have become an oasis of hospitality, right in the heart of The English Riviera. They are proud to offer a relaxing break away, whilst providing all the cosiness and welcome feelings of home.

Day 1

After your door-to-door pick up, we travel to Torquay and the Headland Hotel, where you will spend four nights with dinner and breakfast each day.

During Your Stay

Enjoy a nostalgic journey on the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway to Kingswear, followed by a ferry crossing to Dartmouth and a relaxing river cruise along the Dartmouth embankment.

During your stay there will also be a visit to the historic city of Plymouth, a scenic journey through Dartmoor National Park and a full day at leisure to enjoy Torquay’s seafront, gardens and resort atmosphere.

Final Day

After breakfast, we begin our comfortable journey home.

Suitable stops will be made along the way before returning you safely to your front door with fond memories of your English Riviera holiday.
