Day 1

Your holiday starts with a pickup from home by one of the vehicles from our Door-to-Door service which will bring you through to our coach. Once everyone is on board, we'll make our way to Keswick, the North Lake's popular market town, nestling between the Skiddaw Mountains and Derwentwater Lake. You'll have a couple of hours to explore before we continue our journey to the hotel, aiming to arrive late afternoon.

Day 2

This morning, we head to the Devil's Porridge Museum, which tells the remarkable story of the Greatest Munitions Factory on Earth and the extraordinary lives of the people who lived and worked here. We'll then visit Gretna Green with the world-famous Blacksmiths Shop to discover the history of weddings and runaway romance.

Day 3

Leaving the hotel after breakfast, we make our way to Bowness on-Windermere, where there will be time to stroll and explore before taking a boat trip to Ambleside to re-join the coach. From there, we'll go to the picturesque village of Grasmere, home of the Gingerbread Shop, and the church where Wordsworth is buried. We'll spend time here before heading back to the hotel late afternoon.

Day 4

We have a guided tour of Drumlanrig Castle, where on arrival, we'll have tea/coffee and shortbread. The magnificent "pink palace" of 17th century Drumlanrig Castle is home to the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and is said to be one of Scotland's most rewarding and romantic great houses. This afternoon, we'll spend time in the historic town of Dumfries.

Day 5

Leaving the hotel after breakfast, we'll begin our journey home. We'll make a stop at the market town of Barnard Castle before making our way to your drop off point where the Door-to-Door service vehicles will be waiting to take you home.
