Embark on a Scenic Lake District Break

Enjoy an Elite Door to Door holiday to the Lake District

The Lake District's timeless landscape is where modern tourism originated; with its shimmering lakes, rugged fell mountains, and narrow valleys, this is not a destination to rush through.

Slow down and take in the uninterrupted views from the water - from the eight-mile serpentine route from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding to a scenic cruise around the south of Lake Windermere to Bowness, with time to explore this picturesque town with stunning views across the waters to the mountains.

Day 2

Day 2 Scenic Lake District & Keswick
We enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque Lake District today, travelling north via Windermere then Ambleside, the head of England's largest natural lake where we can spot the pretty Bridge House as we pass. We then journey through the picture-postcard village of Grasmere - named after its adjacent lake and home to Wordsworth when he wrote his famous poem, "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud", inspired by the flowers and scenery of the Lake District - and finally onto Keswick. We spend time at leisure exploring this lovely market town nestled between the majestic Skiddaw mountain and the serene lake of Derwentwater, with plenty of shops, restaurants and museums to browse.

Day 3

Day 3 Ullswater Cruise, Coniston & Hawkshead
This morning we drive to Pooley Bridge where we have some free time to browse the local shops in this quaint village before heading to the pier to embark on a 1 hour Ullswater steamer cruise to Glenridding, on the south side of the lake. Afterwards we head south to the pretty villages of Coniston & Hawkshead, these villages are quintessential Lake District with cobbled streets, squares and courtyards surrounded by beautiful, whitewashed slate cottages. The surrounding scenery is some of the finest in the Lake District and can be enjoyed on a pleasant stroll or from the comfort of one of the many tea rooms.

Day 4

Day 4 Windermere Cruise & Bowness
We make our way to Lakeside pier this morning, where we board our boat to enjoy a 40 minute cruise around the south of Lake Windermere, arriving at Bowness on Windermere. We then have time at leisure over lunchtime and in the afternoon to explore the Lake District's most popular visitor destination. Cruises arrive at jetties at the lakeside and only a short walk takes you into the heart of this Victorian town, popular with tourists since the mid-1800s and briming with art galleries, antique shops, independent gift shops, and local artisan food producers.
