Combine the extravagance of the annual The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the famous backdrop of Edinburgh Castle with the beauty and stunning scenery of Perthshire and the Borders regions, not to mention the wonderful Scottish cuisine and hospitality on this twin-centred break.  Peebles, a pretty little village on the River Tweed with spectacular views across Tweed Valley and only a short distance from Edinburgh.  Travelling between our destinations gives opportunity to take in the famous Kelpies in Helix Park before descending on a wee city with a big history, Stirling punches well above its weight for historic attractions and more sensational scenery.  Crieff is a traditional Scots' market town set amidst Perthshire's stunning scenerey, where we spend the second half of our break giving chance to explore Scotland's ancient capital for five centuries, the 'Fair City' of Perth, once a picturesque playground for Kings and Queens, now a bustling compact and vibrant city beautifully situated on the banks of the River Tay. 

People with walking difficulties must be aware that access to the seating at the Tattoo is via steps with no lift access.
