Brighton

Brighton is one of Britain's most famous south coast seaside cities, just 47 miles away from London. This relatively short distance has made it permanently popular for day trips, ever since the connecting railway was first introduced in the 1800s.  Beachy Head is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, rising to 162 metres (531 ft) above sea level. The peak allows views of the south east coast from Dungeness in the east, to the Isle of Wight in the west.  Named after the Battle of Hastings, the market town of Battle grew up alongside the historic battlefield and tranquil medieval abbey.  Since the 18th century, Royal Tunbridge Wells has been popular tourist destination due to its spa waters and The Pantiles colonnade.
