Day 1

Your holiday starts with a pickup from home by one of the vehicles on our Door-to-Door service which will bring you though to meet our coach. Once everyone is on board, we'll make our way to the Peak District town of Matlock, where we'll take a break before heading to the hotel. You'll have time to relax or perhaps enjoy a stroll through the hotel grounds before dinner.

Day 2

This morning we travel to Salford Quays, a hot spot of Manchester and home to the BBC and Granada Studios as well as the Imperial War Museum. It is from here that we depart on a 60-minute sightseeing river cruise where we'll learn about the history of the Manchester Ship Canal. In the afternoon, we make our way to Quarry Bank Mill. Founded in 1783, the mill was built to harness the flow of the mighty river to power the mill, but it became home to a whole industry community and it is now "one of Britain's greatest industrial heritage sites".

Day 3

We visit the highest market town in England, Buxton. A lovely town in the centre of the Peak District, you'll have time to explore and enjoy on your own before we go to Lyme House and Park, the film location for "Pemberley" in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, starring Colin Firth, which has made it one of the most famous country house images in England.

Day 4

This morning we visit fabulous Chatsworth House and Gardens, in the heart of the Peak District. It's a free flow visit so you'll have time to explore at your leisure. This afternoon, we visit the famous market town of Bakewell, famous for its traditional Bakewell Pudding.

Day 5

Leaving the hotel after breakfast, we begin our journey home. We'll stop for a couple of hours in the compact, ancient city of Chester before continuing our journey back to your drop off point where one of the vehicles from our door-to-door service will be waiting to take you home.
