This tour is a celebration of art in all form - horticulture, architecture and phantasmagoria.

Starting with a visit to the Trentham Gardens, redeveloped in 2000 and home to the imaginative and innovative Italian Gardens, Rivers of Grass and Floral Labyrinth.  Designed to allow visitors an authentic experience, the gardens never stand still.  Fairy-trails lend an air of whimsy as they encourage you to explore the beautiful mile-long lake and its surrounds through the woodland, maze and gardens.
From manual artistry with flora and fauna to manual artistry in the form of ceramic, discover the very best of British craftmanship honed over 260 years at the World of Wedgewood - it's not just teapots!
The visual arts are beautifully represented at Kedleston Hall - a beautiful park-framed mansion built for lavish entertaining and displaying extensive collections of art, as well as the breath-taking Chatsworth Estate which is renowned for the quality of its art, landscapes and hospitality. 
To top off this fabulous visual tour is a trip to the Matlock Illuminations, a stunning display of lighting on water, concluded by a spectacular fireworks display.  Over the years, the Illuminations have grown in popularity and creativity - from candlelit creations to spotlit trees and banks, the river Derwent plays host to  a light show that draws crowds from all over - it really is a unique experience to take part in.  The main attraction is a procession led by a candlelit Victorian boat (adorned in excess of 90 tealights) to commemorate the origins of this proud, local tradition dating back to 1897 and subsequently followed by rowing boats mounted with themed models decorated with an array of coloured lights.

Matlock Bath Illuminations is a fun-packed family event featuring a spectacular parade of illuminated and decorated boats along the River Derwent. Matlock Bath Venetian Boat Builders' Association decorate themed models with an array of coloured lights. These are mounted on rowing boats and paraded on the River Derwent each Saturday and Sunday evening in Derwent Gardens, giving a unique and illuminous display. Included on the Saturday evening is a firework display at around 9pm. A visit to Chatsworth House and Gardens, as well as to nearby Buxton and Bakewell is also included.
