Opened two-hundred years ago, the Lancaster Canal is unique as it is a contour canal (built along the natural lie of the land) over forty-one miles without locks.  This is the longest stretch in the country and played a vital role in Britain’s industrial heyday.  Enjoy a fish and chip lunch on this leisurely return cruise along the Lancaster Canal, featuring the attractive countryside scenery and abundant wildlife that reside along the banks. 

The gardens at Dunham Massey Hall are French in style and includes the moat and mount that are believed to be what remains of the original motte and bailey castle and has all the elements of a great medieval deer park (there are still fallow deer to this day).   Reinvented throughout the years, Dunham Massey really is a garden for all seasons.
