Bridgwater Carnival Somerset
The Somerset Carnivals are highly regarded as the largest illuminated procession in the world. The ritual dates to at least the 1600s when many parts of the county commemorated the Gunpowder Plot but today, they combine grand fireworks displays with street processions, fairgrounds and street food. Our weekend is combined with a half day visit to the medieval Cathedral City of Wells and a free day to explore the delightful city of Bath.

The Mercure Bristol Holland House is just 10 minutes walk from Bristol city centre. It boasts an indoor pool, a fitness suite, and the on-site Urban Bar & Kitchen restaurant. All rooms are en suite with TV, a minibar, and facilities for making tea and coffee. Full English breakfast is served each morning in the Urban Bar & Kitchen, where guests can also enjoy a meal or drink at the bar.
