Day 1

Your holiday starts with a pickup from home by one of our taxis or minibuses which will bring you through to the coach. Once everybody is on board we head for Scotland, making suitable motorway stops and arriving at the hotel early evening for our overnight stay.

Day 2

Leaving Fort William, enjoy the spectacular Scottish Highlands towards the Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye passing the beautiful Eilean Donan Castle en route. Situated on an island at the point where three sea lochs meet, Eilean Donan is one of the most iconic images of Scotland. From the Kyle of Lochalsh, we cross the magnificent Skye road bridge onto the Isle of Skye itself and enjoy the scenic drive past the dramatic Cuillin Hills and through to the island's capital, Portree. We arrive at the port of Uig from where we take a ferry to Lochmaddy (with dinner on board) on the Isle of Benbecula to the Dark Island Hotel for our two-night stay.

Day 3

This morning, we explore stunning South Uist, an island of the Outer Hebrides with crystal clear water and white powder beaches. We pass the ruins of the 18th century Ormacleit Castle towards the Isle of Eriskay, which is linked to South Uist by a stone causeway. The beautiful little island of Eriskay is home to the bay where Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on Scottish soil. It is known for its famous ponies, which are semi-wild and often seen wandering around the village. On our return, we visit the Hebridean Jewellery Shop and Workshop.

Day 4

Today, we travel across North Uist, alongside 13 miles of stunning sandy beaches, freshwater lochs and rolling moorland hills before reaching Berneray, reputedly one of HRH Prince Charles' favourite destinations. From here, we board the ferry to Leverburgh on the Isle of Harris, which offers an incredibly diverse landscape. On arrival, we visit St Clement's Church, Rodel, which was built in around 1500. The Isle of Harris is linked by road to the Isle of Lewis and the drive passes some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the UK. We visit the Isle of Scalpay and admire its lovely waterfront villages before making our way to Stornoway, and the Caladh Inn where we stay for two nights.

Day 5

Lewis is the largest and most populated of the Western Isles although it remains refreshingly unspoilt and uncrowded. Home to some of the most important seabird colonies in the UK, the Isle of Lewis is a haven to all forms of wildlife. During our circular tour, we visit Carloway Broch, an ancient Iron Age fortification, and the mystic Calanais Visitor Centre where we see the Callanish Standing Stones, one of the best-preserved megalithic sites in the whole of Scotland. We also visit Gearrannan Blackhouse Village and step back in time as we experience the way of life in a typical crofting township of the 19th century.

Day 6

This morning, we enjoy some free time in Stornoway before boarding the early afternoon ferry to Ullapool from where we continue to our overnight hotel in Strathpeffer, arriving in time for dinner.

Day 7

After breakfast, we make our way across the Queensferry Bridge for a short visit to Scotland's majestic capital city of Edinburgh. We then say farewell to Scotland and continue our journey home.
